Cloud Atlas (2012)
  1) Time Stamp: 2:13:56
     A) Scene Proceeding: Assassin Bill Smoke (Hugo Weaving) is looking for Luisa Rey (Halle Berry) and Joe Napier (Kieth David), while a Mexican Woman (Doona Bae) shouts in Spanish.
     B) Animal Killed: Dog
     C) Brutality Rating: 3 - The dog is barking and you know it's coming because it's easy... Hugo Weaving shouts "shut the fuck up!" aims the gun and fires. The dog yelps and we see the corpse, but no wound or blood.


10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)
  1) Time Stamp: 0:26:58
     A) Scene Proceeding: Howard (John Goodman) tells Michelle (MEW) that it's time she meet Frank and Mildred
     B) Animal Killed: Pigs
     C) Brutality Rating: 4 - It looks like pigs who were melted AND burned. It's not pretty.


Dreamcatcher (2003)
  1) Time Stamp: 1:29:44
     A) Scene Proceeding: "Jonesy" (Damien Lewis) kills the soldier, and calls his dog to the back of the truck
     B) Animal Killed: Deer
     C) Brutality Rating: 2 - We're subjected to a dead deer covered in the red infection goo, but this also sets off an extended ending of watching the dog die slowly, and painfully. Expect multiple shots of something crawling in the crying dog's belly before we log something major again
  2) Time Stamp: 2:00:52
     A) Scene Proceeding: Henry (Thomas Jane) is walking toward the building where "Jonesy" is still trying to get the manhole cover off
     B) Animal Killed: Dog
     C) Brutality Rating: 2 - The poor dog has at last, mercifully, died, and we see the ass alien crawl out of it. It's gore-free however, and less upsetting than everything before


Equilibrium (2002)
  1) Time Stamp: 0:43:31
     A) Scene Proceeding: The Clerics discover that the sense offenders have kept a yard full of dogs.
     B) Animal Killed: Dogs
     C) Brutality Rating: 2.5 - Dogs are being shot with shotguns off screen, but they are yelping and crying loudly as the shots are fired


High-Rise (2016)
  1) Time Stamp: 0:02:21
     A) Scene Proceeding: Laing (Tom Hiddleston) is waxing poetic about life in the high rise
     B) Animal Killed: Dog
     C) Brutality Rating: 4 - Purely for emotional trauma. While you don't see the actual killing itself, you do see this sweet pup's face (alive) as Laing pets the dog, moments before the movie cuts to a shot of the dog's leg roasting on a spit.
  2) Time Stamp: 0:47:19
     A) Scene Proceeding: A man breaks into the high rise's public swimming pool with a group of unruly children
     B) Animal Killed: Dog
     C) Brutality Rating: 4 - A man takes a dog into the pool and holds it under the water in the crook of his arm until it drowns as an act of revenge against the dog's owner. Fortunately the shots are brief, blurry, and cut rather quickly. Shortly after you see the dog's drowned corpse, with the owner screaming and crying upon witnessing it.
  3) Time Stamp: 1:06:06
     A) Scene Proceeding: Laing is confronted by a resident in the hallway of the now-dilapidated high rise
     B) Animal Killed: Dog
     C) Brutality Rating: 4 - A man chases a dog and beats it (off-screen) with a golf club; whimpers are heard. Later, the severely injured and bloodied dog is held and comforted by its owner.


The Island of Dr. Moreau (1996)
  1) Time Stamp: 0:10:45
     A) Scene Proceeding: Montgomery (Val Kilmer) has just taken a rabbit out of the hutch and Edward (David Thewlis) gives it a kiss on the head
     B) Animal Killed: Rabbit
     C) Brutality Rating: 5 - Montgomery breaks the rabbit's neck. We hear the crack. It's close up. Dick.
  2) Time Stamp: 0:24:33
     A) Scene Proceeding: Aissa (Fairuza Balk) and Edward are in the jungle and two of Moreau's creatures have just been mucking about
     B) Animal Killed: Rabbit
     C) Brutality Rating: 2 - It's just a muss of craft store fur and fake blood.
  3) Time Stamp: 0:54:45
     A) Scene Proceeding: Edward and Montgomery have just had their nonsensical conversation in the radio hut
     B) Animal Killed: Rabbit
     C) Brutality Rating: 2 - Another ripped up rabbit, this time being passed around by the creatures


Knowing (2009)

     A) Scene Proceeding: One of the Whisper People is in Caleb's (Chandler Canterbury) room, and points him to a window that is all lit up orange
     B) Animal Killed: Moose
     C) Brutality Rating: 3 - A flaming moose comes running out of the woods. That's right. A moose. On fire. It's kind of ridiculous, and kind of traumatizing at the same time. Flaming Moose is immediately followed by a bunch of other animals on fire, but they're from a distance and hard to make out.


The Lazarus Effect (2015)
  1) Time Stamp: 0:00:00
     A) Scene Proceeding: The film literally opens with a medical experiemnt being performed on a pig
     B) Animal Killed: A pig
     C) Brutality Rating: 2 - You can't even tell its a pig until it starts squealing, and then its dead. Gross, but not unbearable.
  2) Time Stamp: 0:12:15
     A) Scene Proceeding: Frank and Clay slap five and bro out, Frank says, "Clay! You're all grown up!"
     B) Animal Killed: Dog
     C) Brutality Rating: 2 - They are running experiments on a dead dog. The dog comes back to life, but it's reverse annoying.
  3) Time Stamp: 0:31:16
     A) Scene Proceeding: Zoe tells Nico he's amazing
     B) Animal Killed: Dog
     C) Brutality Rating: 2 - More experiments on a dead dog, but this time we see the dog pulled out of cold storage in a containment bag. This one stays dead.
  4) Time Stamp: 0:46:27
     A) Scene Proceeding: Zoe is staring into the mirror and it breaks, Rocky shows up and growls at her
     B) Animal Killed: Dog
     C) Brutality Rating: 2 - Seen and not heard, but heard loudly.


Life (2017)
  1) Time Stamp: 0:34:00
     A) Dr. Derry (Ariyon Bakare) has just inadvertently released a squid-like creature discovered on Mars, which has escaped its containment and is running amok on the spaceship.
     B) Animal Killed: Rat
     C) Brutality Rating: 4 - As it is an unwilling part of a scientific experiment in a lab, the rat's fate is all but sealed anyway -- but his death is nonetheless traumatic, as it is slowly squeezed to death by the alien life form.


The Lobster (2016)
  1) Time Stamp: 0:51:40
     A) Scene Proceeding: The Heartless Woman (Angeliki Papoulia) wakes up David (Colin Farrell) by telling him she has killed his dog brother. She explains what she did in detail, so you will have ample time to fast-forward if you so choose.
     B) Animal Killed: Dog
     C) Brutality Rating: 5 - Her explanation is bad enough, but the sight of his brother dog dead on the floor will break your heart, especially when he starts crying


Paul (2011)
  1) Time Stamp: 0:02:30
     A) Scene Proceeding: A golden retriever runs out of a farm house
     B) Animal Killed: Dog
     C) Brutality Rating: 1 - Paul the dog gets squished by the UFO, but it's entirely off camera. We just hear his little "yip" when the credits come up.


The Re-Animator (1985)
  1) Time Stamp: 0:22:10
     A) Scene Proceeding: Megan (Barbara Crampton) and Dan (Bruce Abbot) are trying to find Rufus the cat in the apartment
     B) Animal Killed: Cat
     C) Brutality Rating: 4 - Rufus is dead and curled up in a mini-fridge. It's unpleasant, and he looks a little too real.
  2) Time Stamp: 0:26:57
     A) Scene Proceeding: Dan hears noises in the basement, and finds re-animated Rufus attacking Herbert (Jeffrey Combs)
     B) Animal Killed: Cat
     C) Brutality Rating: 3 - Dan throws re-animated Rufus against a wall, which is always awful, and then we see his bloody little body for an extended amount of time


Splice (2009)
  1) Time Stamp: 1:11:10
     A) Scene Proceeding: Dren (a young woman/animal hybrid) is given a pet housecat from her creator, Elsa (Sarah Polley)
     B) Animal Killed: Cat
     C) Brutality Rating: 3 - In an act of teenage rebellion, Dren smiles at Elsa as she uses the stinger on the end of her tail to stab and kill the cat through its neck.


Strange Days (1995)
  1) Time Stamp: 1:18:00
     A) Scene Proceeding: Mace (Angela Bassett) and Lenny (Ralph Fiennes) are shooting at the rogue cops (Vincent D'Onofrio and William Fichtner) when the junkyard dog attacks Fichtner
     B) Animal Killed: Dog
     C) Brutality Rating: 3 - He shoots the dog, which is off screen, but we see him in the next shot laying dead just off to the side. RIP Hero Dog.


They Nest (2000)

     A) Scene Proceeding: A little hamster is running through a maze
     B) Animal Killed: Hamster
     C) Brutality Rating: 3 - Seen and not heard, but the cowering of the hamster before his death will traumatize the super-sensitive
  2) Time Stamp: 0:56:20
     A) Scene Proceeding: Cahill (Thomas Calabro) and the Sherrif (Dean Stockwell) go in to investigate the electrical shed where Jack died
     B) Animal Killed: Raccoons
     C) Brutality Rating: 2 - Just the dead bodies of the raccoons, but they are eviscerated


Unnatural (2015)
  1) Time Stamp: 0:21:24
     A) Scene Proceeding: The model in the wolf fur is wandering around the woods like a dumbass
     B) Animal Killed: Wolf
     C) Brutality Rating: 3 - She falls and lands next to a dead wolf; when Nate (Gregory Cruz) comes running, we see the wolf has been shredded apart
  2) Time Stamp: 1:18:18
     A) Scene Proceeding: Remar shows up out of nowhere on a snowmobile with a giant rotor thing on the front screaming goofy catchphrases
     B) Animal Killed: Genetically Modified Polar Bear
     C) Brutality Rating: 2 - He drives the rotor through the polar bear. It is the fakest looking part of the movie so far.
